With Steven Gerrard leading the team with his captain band, the team performs exceptionally well in their Premier league and European appearances. Though Gerrard is scoring consistently, the reason for great wins in the late part of the season entirely rests with Kuyt and Fernando Torres. Torres was helped by his national teammate Xabi Alonso in the midfield and he too scores goals very often. Babel is a great striker for the team but occasionally he is missing chances to score a goal. Gerrard is Liverpool’s all time leading goal scorers in the European clash with 29 goals. Goal keeper Reina shaped himself as a leading goal saver in the premier league games and served the club for great number of years.
